Why Firms Choose ysseraxxad

Measured, Unhurried Method

We do not rush conclusions. Each engagement is paced to allow careful examination of what is actually relevant to your firm's situation, rather than what fits a template.

Malaysian Regulatory Depth

Our work is oriented toward the Malaysian regulatory environment — BNM, SC, MOH, MCMC — with attention to how guidance and enforcement posture are evolving in each sector.

Written Deliverables of Substance

Every engagement concludes with a document your board or legal team can actually use — not a slide deck of broad observations, but a considered written record of where you stand.

Works Alongside Existing Teams

We position ourselves as a complement to your in-house legal and compliance functions, not a replacement. The working sessions are designed for collaboration, not presentation.

Transparent Scoping

Each engagement is defined in writing before work begins. You know what is included, what the deliverables are, and what the timeline looks like — there are no moving goalposts.

Proportionate Engagement Scale

Not every question requires a full posture review. The Regulatory Note exists precisely for moments when a firm needs a considered written answer without the time or cost of a longer engagement.

Curator's Correspondence

Have a regulatory matter worth examining?

We are glad to hear from compliance leads, general counsel, and senior executives who are weighing a particular regulatory question. A brief conversation costs nothing and may help you determine which engagement — if any — fits your situation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of firms does ysseraxxad work with?
We work primarily with firms in regulated sectors — financial services, healthcare, education, and telecommunications — that face ongoing obligations under Malaysian regulatory frameworks. We are most useful at the point where a firm is asking "where do we actually stand?" rather than seeking litigation support or a compliance audit in the traditional sense.
Does ysseraxxad provide legal advice?
No. ysseraxxad is a regulatory consulting practice, not a law firm. Our work is analytical and advisory — we help firms understand where they stand and what the landscape looks like — but we do not provide legal opinions or represent clients before regulators. For legal advice, you will need a qualified Malaysian advocate and solicitor.
How long does a Regulatory Posture Engagement take?
Typically ten to twelve weeks from the date the engagement is formally initiated. The timeline includes an initial document review period, four working sessions spaced over the engagement, and a drafting and review stage for the posture document. We will agree a schedule with you before work begins.
What does a Regulatory Note cover?
A Regulatory Note addresses a single, well-defined question — for example, what a recently issued guidance note means for your existing practice, or whether a particular notification obligation applies to your situation. It is not suited to broad questions that would require a full posture review to answer properly. If you are unsure which engagement fits, we are happy to have a short preliminary conversation.
How are fees structured and when are they due?
Each engagement has a fixed fee set out in the engagement letter before work begins. For the Posture Engagement and Consultation Response, we typically invoice in two stages — on commencement and on delivery of the principal deliverable. Regulatory Notes are invoiced on delivery. All fees are in Malaysian Ringgit.
Is the information we share treated as confidential?
Yes. Every engagement begins with a mutual confidentiality agreement. We do not share client information with third parties, and we do not use engagement materials for any purpose other than the work we have been engaged to do.
